I am looking at buying one of these tractors, can any one tell me if they had any major problems, are parts available,it has a factory tube style loader on it, 3 PT hitch. thanks

Richard: It is the tractor, rather figured that but wanted to be sure. I have seen questions on here re the industrial machines.

Those are one durable little diesel, quite straight foreward. Transmission, pto and rear end basically tried and true Farmall H technology. The diesel will run forever. When they were first imported from Britain in the 50s they were not climatized for cold winter starting. Most of that has been cured by now with upgrades at engine rebuild time. Still best to install a block heater for cold weather starts.

The up side is they are simple technology, and not hard on the pocket book at the parts counter. Parts will be plentiful if you live in Canada or anywhere in the British Empire. Some of these first British tractors were never sold new in the US, thus parts can be difficult there. Any tractor IH didn't sell in a particular country is that way, local dealers just didn't stock parts for them.
