My crank is the 17 inch one. The pin is 3/8" diameter, 1_9/16" long, and 3/4" from the end of the crank to the center of the pin. The pin is horizontal if the crank handle is hanging down. Thanks to all for the info..... ..... .it helps..... .NOW IF I COULD ONLY REMEMBER WHERE I GOT THE CRANK..... ..Oh Well!..... ....RP

I have three of them here and none of the three have the pin mounted horizontal. They are all a little different, so maybe they drilled a hole wherever, and installed the pin. Wherever the pin sits, the crank handle should hang straight down when put into the tractor. That way you can have a full upward pull to start the tractor.

we used one off an ihc combine with a continental engine on the c in a pinch, but the crook of it rubbed on the c's grille.

One from a C with 17 inch crank will work on nearly all others. The same is not true the other way as the A/SA/100/130/140 are a bit shorter than the one for a C/SC/200/230/ A/SA is 13 1/2 inches to the bend, B is 13 inches, Late SA with 123 engine uses a 16 1/2 inch crank. The Cub crank is also different.

I have not had a crank for my Super C since my neighbor borrowed the tractor and lost it. I've got a couple of longer cranks I could cut off for the 17 inch but how is the pin located in relation to the cranks handle? Is it parallel or at some angle?

Owen, it is at an angle. Those figures I gave are from the book. The one I use on my C and SC is the short one for a SA. It is 13 1/2 to the crook. It is a close fit, but doesn't rub either grill. I have the right one, but the spinner handle is missing from it. Send me an email and I will send a couple pics of both of mine.
