It seems like it rains all around where I live but then when you talk to someone 40 miles away they say the same thing. Really dry in Western MN. Just like last year but the corn and soybeans look better then last year because the drought started two or three weeks later. We maybe will see in what things look like in two weeks with out no rain but I hope not.

Don't worry fellas. A wise man once told me "It always rains after a dry spell"

Had a long dry spell here once. Fella asked down at the feed store if ennybody thought it'd ever rain. Old-time piped up. "Always has."

Rain, what is that? It is either just north or south of us. The other day, we had 5 drops. We have not had a good soaking rain yet this year. When and if it does, we get a 5-10 down pour that doesn't even get the ground wet. The corn is not very tall this year and the leaves look really dry. On the good side, so far for july, it has been cooler then normal for here with less humidity. Seems more like september miuns the rain of course. :)

Record heat wave here for past 4 days. Heat indexes of 110. No rain since 16 June. Friday the corn looked better than it has for years. 200 bushel fields everywhere. Today they might get 100 and going south fast.

Rain? What is that? Been so long I forgot. Been pumping water from a duck pond into barrels and hauling it to the garden. 600 gallons a week just to keep it alive. Pond is lowest in over 10 years.

Try this!
Wash all the cars.
Water the garden.
Mow all the hay.
Leave all the windows open on the cars and in the house.
Leave the clothes out on the line.
Always works when you DON'T want rain anyway.

It's dry here in MD too and I receive emails from a farmer in western Ohio and they have only received several inches of rain since April. He sent me pictures showing the ground cracking. He has irrigated some of the crops. You need to watch your wells too. Hal

I'm with you both on this one.The garden and sweet corn have just stopped growing.Oats are ripining but they are only about knee high.Field corn looks great ,but I don't think it's going to make any ears.It rained all around us (NW PA) but when it gets here it just dries up.My wife is getting tired of me grumbling about it.

You can have all the rain we have been getting. I can find enough dry days to get my hay in!!!!! Ground is so soft last weekend the H sank up to the axles in the high side of the slope in the field. What a mess.
