100 farmall McCormick play in the steering

can anyone tell me how to correct or repair my 100, it has at least a complete round of play in the steering.I think the year might be in the 50's.thanks for any help David in Tn

David. If there is no end to end movement of the steering wheel shaft I wouldn't touch those bearings.

90% of the time free steering wheel travel is caused by 2 woodruff keys on the vertical shaft in the steering box. The gear inside is keyed to that shaft and the steering control arm is keyed to that shaft. Those two keys being in poor condition can give over one full turn at the steering wheel.

tear he whole sector apart and replace the bearings,bushings and both seals. then you will have good smooth steering
