Hi. I've got a BN and have had two sediment bowls on it over the last couple of years that always end up leaking gas all over my nice paint job. I bought them from TSC. Anyway, I would like to do away with it and put a shut off and in-line fuel filter. Can someone tell me what I would need to screw into the tank...size,thread etc. I figured I would use compression fittings on the line. Thanks, Bob

Hi everybody. Mine is leaking at the shut off-not at the threads in the tank. It is also leaking around the glass bowl itself a bit. I've snugged the packing nut on the shutoff and seemed to help for awhile, then goes right back to leaking. Thanks for the information. Bob

i use the FRAM see-thru in-line filters with no problems and a simple shut off on the tank. those aftermarket have different sizes for the lines so i have avoided them and have several stock original sediment bowls. the old ones have to be checked as they have been overtightned in the past and are sprung. i get the gaskets and screens from NAPA

hey bob, i think your headed down the wrong road with the fuel filter idea. lots of folks have problem with that set up including myself. seems on that gravity fuel system a in line filter just seems to starve the carb. for enough fuel and the lower the fuel gets in the tank the worse it gets. mine came that way and i pulled it and put it back to original with new line and s/o with sediment bowl. as andy asked where is the actual leak ?? at the bowl gasket or the tank thread ?

Where is it leaking? From the bowl or where it threads into the tank? If it is in the threads, put a sealer in it and it might stop leaking.
