My 454 has a number on the main body that starts with I 454. Does this mean industrial? Can anyone tell me what the difference is. No evidence that it was ever painted any color other than red.

Also, is there someone that I can contact that might have some information on history of the tractor. I know that JD offers this service.

thanks, sorry to use JD on this forum!

Somethings are hard to find out. I STILL am not certain our 2500 is a B. THey make a A and B in diesel and gas! haha so far it seems A is loader only stock and B is backhoe and loader stock (which it has stock both on it)

So best bet is prob to find all the seriel numbers and stuff you can and go from there. Grab a manual first thing you can too. We have all 3 (service, parts, and repair). THey are very valuable, in fact we just got the wrong hytran filter and the book showed the parts guy HE screwed up (not me hehe).

It will save tons of headaches. Maybe if you post some pics in the ID this section of site soemone will now.

Note SOme like mine have a I over a H for the IH symbol. The H is red and in back it may have faded possibly. So far for that tractor all I could find out is it appears the Industrial one used diff engine (same deal garden tractors use in industrial version). So wipe the gook off the ID tag on block and find out. heh. Post the numbers here and Ill give it a shot on google.

If wide front utility style, It means International. There are no records of tractor (IH) paper trail. Finding info is very iffy unless prior owners can be found (not too likely). JimN
