IH 300 loader removal

I just bought an International 300 utility tractor with an IH loader and would like to take it off for a while. The only loaders I've taken off were on Farmalls with narrow front ends. The 300 has a wide front and clearing the front wheels will be a challenge as the tractor is backed out of the loader. It looks like the only bolts that need to come out are the four on the rear axle housings. I have some ideas, but was hoping someone with experience might save me some grief.

Thanks in advance for any help
Zim

Zim, our IH of a diff model shows the same in the manual. It covers splitting tractor and taking bucket/backhoe off. They show a heavy hydro jack uner, then 2x 2ton jack stands. Use the 2 ton ones trust me! They are average stands anyways. Id still keep a close eye on it as removing just watch for anything that catches and DONT force it.I have yet to remove ours, Ill be nervous when we do to paint it. haha.

If I remeber right You have to suport the back. The bucket will set on the ground and let you drive out if back is high enough to clear tie rods. If you are not high enough they can be bent

Set the bucket on the ground or floor hang the loader on a heavy set of come a longs, then unbolt then back up a little and raise until you clear the front axle, I have removed the loader on a Utility 330 many times this way.

Most farmers would just take the loader arms and bucket off and leave the frame and hydraulic cylinders on the tractor.

If it is an IHC loader it is much easier to remove it all.

The loader has to have some kind of bracing up front on the frame rails too, doesn't it?

You are either going to have to "hang" it from an overhead in some manner or use another loader to lift it while you back out from under.

The front brackets stay on the tractor if it is an IHC loader.

Thanks for the information. An old post I read mentioned a jack and holding stands to be used with IH loader on a 350 utility tractor. That would be a plus as I don't have a great place to suspend the loader.
