Thanks wereowance, old, janicholson, scotty, and RustyFarmall for the suggestions for fixing the carburator on my A. Turns out it was just as most of ya'll said, the main jet was gummed up. So much for my thorough cleaning. It's clean now!Works better than ever now. Now I've got another question. Now that the tractor is running so good, I decided to put her to use dragging trees and limbs from the woods and around the house that got busted up from the ice storm. Now I have a distinct clunk coming from the left rear axle, happens about twice at every complete tire rotation. Does that sound like a chipped bull gear or should I be looking for something else? Thanks again

Check the bolts that hold on the wheel weights if you have them. They don't often loosen up, but a loose weight will clunk, and you can't see it moving from the driver's seat.

Thanks, I'll check that this weekend as well. I didn't mention it but it does have wheel weights on it.

Red and Gary are correct. All wheel lugs and bolts need to be checked. I would remove them one at a time, and wire brush the threads, put anti sieze compound on them, and tighten them up to spec. (tighten to 1/16th turn befor breaking off) That parenthetical stuff is a joke, JimN

Thanks, I hope it's that easy. I didn't see any wheel wobble so I didn't think that would be it but ya'll are correct, it should be the first thing to verify and mark off the list. Definitely some metal clunking together though. Janicholson, I've done the 1/16" past the breaking point before and it ain't no fun ;) I'll keep ya'll posted.

Before you go tearing into the final drive to replace bearings, Go over and tighten all the bolts that hold the rim onto the wheel. These will sometimes work loose and it will give a distinct "clunk" noise as the wheel rotates.

Maybe you can save yourself a lot of work.

Check the bolts holding the rim to the inner dish to make sure they are tight.
