I am looking for the front hydraulic bucket cylinder and brackets for an IH 33A power loader. If you have such items laying around in the back 40 I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks, Moki.

Well, I'll be. And I thought all 33 loaders had trip buckets.

Anyway, there are a pair of early IH loader cylinders on eBay right now. Don't know what they fit.

Wardner: Notice he said 33A, the A indicates it had hydraulic bucket. It is a single cylinder in the middle, probably close to 5" bore and 15" to 18" stroke.

Thanks gentlemen. I did find a #34 (at least that is what I think it is) with the same bucket and cylinder so maybe I have to rethink his asking price of $450. Maybe I could sell the actual loader with the trip bucket for some of that later. Again, thanks for your comments. Moki

Moki: I'd go for that 34 loader, wee bit better engineering than the 33 or 33A. Back when they were mew 33 was designated as Farmall loader and 34 as a loader for Utilities, however with some modification the 34 will fit the Farmall.

My dad bought a new 33A loader in the 50s for his Farmall 300. It was the first and last 33A the dealer sold. Our loader caused him enough grief, they found ways to modify the 34 to fit Farmalls. Dad had a 31 loader before the 33A, and we couldn't get the 33A to lift like the old 31. 31 had been on an H with belly pump and 33A was on 300. They did make it lift a bit better but then the loader frame started breaking. Three years later we bought a Cockshutt 540 with a Wagner loader with front mounted pump. It freed the 300 up for field work and was much better loader tractor. That old 33A lay on top of a pile of steel roofing behind the barn, for a number of years. Dad said that was it's most useful function, during the time we owned it.

Hugh, sorry "bout being so "tight-lipped" the other evening. Don"t know what happened to the text? Anyhoo, do you have a clue if a 33 - ( -A- yup, I learnt sumpin, thanks for sharing that, good to know ) would mount to a Farmall 340 wide-front. I know this was a model loader produced before the 40-60 series tractor, but I would like something light for the tractor and am NOT going to abuse the tractor nor loader. Thanks in advance.

Al: I must admit it did surprise me. I always check in to see what you are saying. You can imagine my checking in a not being enlightened by your point of view.

You may find the 33A loader a bit of a pain on a 340. It was clearly designed for tractors you mount from behind rear axle. The upper structure of the 33 will make it acward getting on and off 340. If I were you I'd look for a newer type loader that keeps your platform accessable.
