There is a pretty good looking Case IH 495 tractor with loader (878 hours) coming up for auction in Fort Meade Maryland on January 9. Just go to site and search for ... Case tractor. Do not know who owns what but everything I have looked at is to be picked up directly from military bases.

as i understand this, correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems like a private company reselling gov surplus when thy say " this was gov surplus". You arn't buying direct from the gov, are you, on this site? thanks

Most, if not all, of the Defence Reutilization Program has been privitized. Contractors have taken over the Govt surplus program. This has been on going for at least ten years so I assume it must be working to the benefit of the Govt. It was phased in gradually but I believe it now covers all material from the Defense Dept.

I believe the Govt only screens surplus items to find interagency suitability and acceptance, and then passes the items on to Federal, State, and local jurisdictions at no cost. Anything not claimed goes to the auction contractors and made available to the public.
