Hey guys,
I need to do a conversion to use cat 1 3pt implements on my tractor. It currently has a 2pt fast hitch. I figure I can use a heavy duty turnbuckle for the upper link and mount it to where the hook is mounted here:

Now for the lower links, I was looking at buying the 2 forks, but I dont wanna spend the money. My bro said he could weld this up for me at his work:

Now, I know that I won't be able to spread the links to put the pins in, so any implements, I will just remove the pins and use bolts. How do people normally hookup the fasthitch 3pt conversion forks to the implements, since the 2pts cant be spread anyways?

I will have my bro weld some 1X3 solid steel to extend the drawbar with links on it and drill 1" holes in the ends. How far from the beginning of the fasthitch socket should the holes be?
Right now the only implement I have is a cat II blade, but it will work fine, as I can just mount the links to the inside, instead of the typical outside of the mounts, I've already mocked it up and it will work great!!

Any tips? I just dont want to spend 200$ on a conversionm. I can have this done for next to nothing. It would be cool to have a combo drawbar/3pt lower links in one...

Look at worksaver.com - they have line drawings of their conversion kits. Might get some ideas, if you want to make up a set. I bought a set from them for my 200. Works great. Have to be careful about impliments, or use shims, etc to adjust mounting pin spacing to match width of your tractor's hitch.

i have a set of 3 point conversion prongs for my fast hitch . the way i hook up 3 point implements is i back up to the implement with the prongs in the sockets . i stop about 8 inches from from the implemnt and get off te tractor and unlatch he prongs and pull them back to the pins . this gives enough side play to pull out sideways and over the pins . i then get on the tractor and back up to seat and latch the prongs .

That hook was there when I got it. Never bothered taking it off yet. I'd never pull something from that high =)

Wish it wasnt so cold, Or I'd start on it now. Actually, its supposed to get up in the 40s this weekend, so I might work on getting my selector vavle and hitch cylinder hooked back up =)

I mount three point implements opposite the way you are planning. I have enough points around here so I fit them to the implement and they remain part of the implement. Occasionally I will use a top link if the implement doesn't have an adequate area to ridgedly fasten the points. IOW, the implement rotates around the rear of the point because there is not enough steel on the frame to make a solid attachment. I think my York rake is like that but I haven't used it in awhile.

The very first thing you should do is lose that grab hook. I would call it a suicide hook. You should never pull from that height.
