Hello, I am new to this board & also new to restoring tractors but I have started restoring a 1926 McCormick 10 20. My question is about painting the finished tractor. I understand most of the tractor is dark grey with red wheel spokes.

Is the engine and radiator also dark grey or are they a different colour?
Thanks

Alan (in New Zealand)

ps Any photos would be welcome.

We had a 1926 10-20 purchased before I was born
and it was gray. It replaced a Fordson. That's like moving up from a Model T Ford to a Cadillac.
Never had a problem with it starting. It was used in the winter months for shredding corn fodder, sawing wood and hauling manure. Here's a 10-20 bought new in 1927. It is now owned by the
owner's son in Iowa. He's a WW2 vet and is unable to farm, so he rents his acreage. Hal

And the drawbar was gray on the early IHC tractors.
