It will start the first time after sitting for 3 days and will run and pull fine. But when you turn it off its flooding itself out and if you try to start it after it will just sputter for a few minutes.

Any advice?

now it sounds like it could be the condenser, and poss. the points. as they are normally changed at the same time!

Steven asked if it has spark when it doesn't start. I'd wonder that, too. I had a problem with my H not starting when hot a few years ago. It was the coil or condenser, I changed both at once so don't know which. When my H is reluctant to start for ignition problems it is quick to flood, makes troubleshooting tricky.
Also, does it matter how long it runs to make it not start? A few minutes or does it have to get thoroughly hotted up?

You might try this, too, next time you run it long enough that you would expect it to give trouble. When it's time to shut it down cut off the gas and let it run the carb dry. Give it a few minutes and see will it start. If it does it may still be the carb. Even a new one can have problems.
Good luck, Wm

A couple question before the answer. When you park it do you shut off the gas?? Then when you try to start it latter you haven't shut off the gas right?? If yes to both then you probably have a bad float in the carb and its filling with gas and when it does that it floods the engine. But asfter it has sat for a few day with the gas turned off the float emptys out and floats again till it fills with gas.

Its not the carburetor I have bought a rebuilt one to see if it was the problem and it did the same thing so im pretty sure its not the carb. I checked the float and it was moving fine.

I also turn off the gas when I finish with it then turn it back on when I go to start it. But it will start and run fine as long as it hasnt been run in 2 or 3 days but when you turn it off and go out like 5 minutes later to start it just sputters for a minute and then it dies
