I still can't find that lift bar thingy and drawbar that goes from the arm on the hyraulic box to my lift bar/rockshaft/whatever the tube or bar is called that spans the inside of my rear fenders and transmits the pull on the drawbar to lift.

I've got three empty holes on the rear portion of each fender that need something installed there. I need the bar that connects the two and operates it.

I just got back from my camp and looked at 4 parts tractors up there and lo and behold it was missing on each one. What the heck is going on?????

By the way, I went back and replied to the comments on my welding the block up on my 100. Sorry to have dissapeared, I was out of town. Thanks for the support guys!!!!!

Anyone know where a drawbar and rockshaft (?) is?

Patrick: I saw this earlier this morning and wondered what you were talking about. Bear in mind I have owned 6 of these tractors since 1958, three standard drawbars and three fast hitches.

Before you go any further with this, will you do one thing, first order a parts book so you know what your talking about. It's painful to watch what you put banjo through this morning, and I'll bet your setting back thinking he doesn't know what he's talking about. Well let me assure you, banjo is 100% on this.

No way not at all bud! this is my first tractor and I'll be the first to say that I'm completley clueless as to what I need, what's the right part and name, etc.
I do automobile restorations and such and this is my first farm implement! :)
Sorr to be such a bother or have caused any trouble guys. :)

I will be picking up that manual you are talking about. I have the IT manual and would like this one as well.

Patrick: One thing I should have warned you about in ordering a parts manual. The tractor parts manual will most likely include only the U drawbar with swinging drawbar as it applies to hitching.

Rear rockshafts were always considered part of the implement, and those are covered in implement parts books. For example the A-189 plow had a rear rockshaft whereby you could lower one side without the other, whereas the A-193 plow had a solid rockshaft where both side lowered and raised together.

When a farmer bought a tractor, he would get a tractor manual, plus a manual for each implement he purchased. There is an all incompasing manual that covers tractor and all attachments and implements available at the time of the particular tractor. I've only ever seen one of these, tried to buy it off the guy. It was a Super A book, thus it wouldn't have covered any of the fast hitch equipment. I offered him $75. He was a book dealer and wanted me to go higher. I said, "you find one of the newer books from 100, 130 or 140 that covers fast hitch as well and we'll talk." He's never called. I think these last books are quite rare.

Hugh,

Did you know you can go the the Case/IH corporate site under parts and look at the parts books online, they don't have everything but most tracors and some of the major implements are there. The pictures are not as good as the paper books, but you can get the correct names, part numbers, and the attatching hardware. It even tells which part are "retired" but I'm not sure how accurate that is. You need the model number to find anything, though.

Patrick: I've realized all your saying about cars and first tractor for some time. I just want to see you enjoy your tractor, and think the parts manual could be a big help.

The other thing that gets confusing about the 100, 130 and 140 tractors especially, is they came from factory equiped several different ways as it applies to hitching. Some had U drawbars, some U drawbars with swinging drawbar, some had no drawbar and cultivator mounts only on final drive. There were two different rear rockshafts and finally you had the tractors that came equipped with fast hitch, add to that many folks have added a variety of aftermarket 3 point hitches.

All of these items have names, and I'm sure you can see the value of the parts book. We just want you to enjoy the tractor, and not be quite as frustrated as you were this morning.

You need the rear rockshaft and supports and the rear lift arm.I wound up ordering mine from wengers of myerstown i think. If you can find some salvage places online call them and see if they have one.I just bit the bullet and spent the money.Just keep calling till you find a place that has one and order it.Some places will do a search for you but it is best to try and order direct from the one that has it.

The drawbar attaches to the final drive houseing. If i understood you question right you do not have any thing between the fenders or the rod to the front rochshaft power arms.

third party image

Here's a pic to better explain. (I took this pic from the photoalbum here.)

I need both of these parts. the long bar from the arm on the hydraulic box and the rockshaft with arms as shown in this pic. It attaches with 3 bolts to the inside of each fender.

I beleive they are called as i posted earlier. rear rockshaft with supports(mounting brackets) and the rear lift arm or rod(not called a drawbar)If you ask for a drawbar you will be dissapointed with what you receive. Hopefully someone will know of some salvage business close to you. Even if they don't list them on their sites go ahead and give them a call sooner or later someone will come up with what you are looking for.

It may be called rear operating rod also.Hopefully some one will know for sure. But i do know for sure it is not called a drawbar. the tractor in that phote does not have a drawbar on it that i can see.As it would be attached to the final drive houseing either faceing toward the rear of the tractor or towards the front.

OK what I have is for a Super A but when Case printed it out it looks like it is for a 140 instead. Anyway I'll post the names and parts numbers for you since I dont know what kind of tractor you have.

The long bar is called "link lift", part #520076R11. Theres a nut, jam nut, self opening cotter pin, and washer as well.

There is also a "collar" part #2638X, it has a set screw.

Then three is the "trunnion lift link" part #520066R1

Last part of that arm is "lift link cushion spring" part #520712R1.

On a 140 below that arm is another arm called the "lift helper arm". I dont think Super A's came with this but 140's did, least on the ones I have seen.

On the 140's theres what i call a "hook" at the front of the link lift arm. On my Super A it is just a straight bar with two bends.

I am looking for that conpression spring now, I have the rest of the parts. The Spring on a 140 is lots bigger than for the Super A. The link lift arm is lots thicker as well.

On the four 140's I have access too the rocker arms are all a little differant. Mainly on the bar that sticks up that you attach the link lift too on the top of that arm there is another kind of "rectangle plate" that sticks up that bolts to the rocker arm and then the lift link. All ours have fast hitches so this may have been something that came with that set up.
