Sequence of events--boilover out of the cap and overflow pipe. Flushed radiator with cleaner then new antifreeze/water at 50/50. Straight water flushed right thru (so radiator not plugged, right?). Ran motor-same thing. Got block tester from local mechanic-no apparent gas in radiator fluid. Also, no antifreeze/water in oil pan or dipstick. So, head gasket ok--right? Level of fluid in radiator at spec level so not overfull and just running over.Hoses ok.Blew out the radiator fins with water and comprssed air--some junk out but seems open to airflow. Any ideas of what to check next? Really puzzled. Thanks

same thing happend to my 400 right after buying. found that the pully where you tighten the belt for the water pump was loose. there is a set screw to back off and turn the front pully to tighten. hope this helps. dont take much to be loose.

Is the gauge reading hot or not? Radiator cap?

Did you flush radiator both ways? From top and bottom?

Have you removed the thermostat housing and looked inside? Sounds like the thermostat has come apart and is blocking water flow to the radiator (it's happened to me a couple times...)

I haven't used a auto parts store flush in years, since i have found they don't work all that well. My self I use a vinagar flush. Drain system, fill with 100% vinagar, run tractor till hot, let cool and drain then back flush with water from a hose. All engines that Have do that to so far have since run cool. One or 2 did take doing it twice but it worked
