Oil is leaking out the back of the auxilary valve cap at the rear of the tractor. The oil is coming out of the small hole it the detent adjusting screw. I start the tractor and it doesn"t leak until the oil warms up or possibly until the oil pressure builds. I have been trying to fix this problem since July. So far the valves have had every oring replaced and it still leaks. Checked system relief valve by taking one out of a 706 and still does same thing. put valve from 1466 into 706 and no problems for 706

I think it may be time to replace the detent assy. There could be a crack in it from installing the o-ring, backup washer, and cap. I have cracked these myself but not all the way through.

Have you been fixing it or someone else? The oil is coming from the o-ring in the part of the valve that has the detent balls. There is a small 1 1/4" shaft that goes in this housing that contains the steel balls. To get to this o-ring you have to unscrew this housing out of the back of the machined spool and pry out a inverted cap in the end that the threads are. The o-ring and a white backup washer is in the hole. When you take the valve apart the balls will drop on the floor. (If you have'nt had it apart yet.) Hope this helps. Good Luck. (NE 21-Iowa St 7)
