I'm curious if anyone has tried and been succesfull in changing out the front oil seal on the input shaft of the transmission through the hand hole in the bottom of the tractor. Is it possible or will I have to split the tractor? I'm wondering if I can remove the shaft bolts and slide it out of the way far enough to remove the seal housing and replace the seal or have I gone off the deep end?

Thanks,

Scott

IMHO, you will have to split the tractor. Because the seal rides on the tranny input shaft coupler, there is a paper gasket which seals the coupler. Don't forget this simple gasket; it may leak otherwise. Hendrik

When I replaced the front seal on my B, I took some 5/8" all thread about a 16" long and replaced the bolts with them. Sure made easy work of it. Good Luck.
