Are the decals on a white Farmall M demonstrator supposed to be red or white? Also, is there a silver star on the side of the grille?

If you don't put red paint behind the decal they look very bland and plain. With the red showing through they really look sharp.

Robert, I don't know the answer to your question. Your tractor is the color you want it to be, I think the decals should be also.

As you can see in other postings the correct police won't answer an incorrect or improperly posed question. Try asking about the star on the grill and color of decals for a 1950 Cub or Super A/C.

IH used the regular red tractor decals, except for the I in IH which was red, the decals on the red tractors let the red paint show through. The stars I have not paid any attention to. I painted my originally white C red, and destroyed all the white evidence during preparation (I do have pictures) so I'm darn sure not the correct police. And there really is no correct or incorrect answer for a tractor that never existed. But, the three factory painted white tractors all had the same color scheme, so the copies made of other models can use that scheme also if the owner prefers, or simply wants to fool people, or if he really believes it existed.

The only white demo's were the Cub, Super A, and C, produced in Jan, Feb, March 1950. Whoever told you yours is a demonstrator has the wrong information. It is possible that other models were painted white at the factory as ordered by individuals, highway depts, etc. I have seen white Farmall H's or M's used by a road construction contractor. No idea if they were original from the factory or repainted later.
