Anybody have an idea what a nonsteering 240U with "Superior" loader might be worth in central New Hampshire? Rebuilt engine & clutch, 6V, comfy "highway department" type seat. Engine & loader working fine, solid bucket, filled tires (mismatched but tubed & holding) new chains, just no steering and I need to let it decorate somebody else"s woodlot. thanks.

Repairs might cost 500 to 800 for parts if the steering box is toast.. if only one small roller, or keyway is broken, it might be well worth fixing. I'm not sure of the value there, but it could go (fixed) for 2000 to 26oo or more W/O loader. Telling someone what is actually wrong will help the sale even if not fixed. Prices vary drastically with location. JimN

I know it's the Pitman arm. The one that failed has been on about 18 months. That gol-dang 240U key slot. On level ground this would be a super tractor/loader but I have rough ground with rises, dips, branches and the occasional low stump all of which stresses the steering beyond the comfort zone of this particular machine. I can't go thru with this again and need to get into something more suited to heavy use. That Superior is a darn good loader system, somebody in this bulletin board a couple years ago said theirs on another 240 utility could 'lift a house' and mine just about could. It tears me up to see it sitting there with no way to steer it. Again.

Thanks for the feedback.
