I have an 826 that slips in gear when you take off at a low idle, then when you rev it up it will "kick up a gear" and start moving faster... Also when you turn the wheel all the way to the left of right, it with slip until you straighten out again-and it slips when you use the hydraulics.. it wasne't slipping under load until the other day when i was plowing i noticed it a few times, however, it won't with the TA back. I changed the hydraulic filter, topped off the fluid, checked all the clutch adjustments..i don't know what else to do?? Does this sound like the clutch, hydraulic pump,or could it just be something simple?

Well ya got a problem in the MCV , first make sure that the selector valve is going all the way down to the snap ring this is the valve that moves up and down when you pull the T/A lever back . If that checks out ok then there are a list of things that it could be and will require first checking pressure and this take some special fittings and one test tool and two gauges that can read pressure of at least 600 lbs . OR you can just spend money and rebuild the MCV and install a new pump and replace the T/A that way ya covered all the bases .

But Vet,

Why in the world would it do it with the use of the remotes too? That's the part that gets me.

I've never been able to figure that one out 'cause they are supposed to be two separate systems. Aren't they?..... ....

My tractor did/does/dunno-yet that too when on the spinner plow; only time I've noticed it.

Just every once in awhile the silly thing will "neutral out" if you are using a lot of hydraulics like the steering, the brakes, the hydraulics and the hitch all at the same darned time.

Throw the T/A lever one way or the other (doesn't matter which way either) and it will come out of it. What really was annoying was the "starting out in low and then jumping up into high" thing (haven't noticed it since I put in the new rear pump).

Was hoping that maybe this new rear pump would cure it in some strange little way.

Allan

Had that problem on 786 too Allen, but then realised the MCV pump is supercharged with unused oil from the hitch pump. If your MCV pump is a little down on pressure and the hitch pump is on high demand, the steering etc. can miss out momentarily.

Make sure that the T/A and clutch adjustments are correct like i have layed out before as the double shift is usual caused by the dump valve being out of adjustment . For get the book on other then clutch free travel the rest is simple but does require two people one to set in the seat and do the pedal pushen and the other to get his hands dirty . Set the free travel on the clutch first then go to the trans brake and pull the hair pin out then the clevis pin after ya broke the lock nut loose put the clutch to the floor with the engine OFF and hold the trans brake lever all the way back adjust the clevis out till the pin will slid in freeley then let the clutch pedal up and adjust the clevis out one to one and a half turns more install the pin and hair pin and lock down the lock nut . Next start the engine and at and ideal and with the transmission in N park loc ingaged loosen the T/A dump valve adjust bolt and back off about 6 or 7 turns .next push the clutch pedal down to the stop lug and hold there now turn the dump valve bolt in till the T/A lube pressure lite just comes on if the lite does not work fix that first Stop as soon as the teltale lite comes on shut down the engine let the clutch pedal up and give the dump valve bolt one more complet turn in and lock the lock nut down . all done no fancy massuren that is never done wright in the first place this way works vary well. I am out of here going to chop corn.
