I "think" that my hydro pump just went south on me. It quit lifting the bucket when loaded. Without a load, it will lift up, but very slowly. I also noticed a leak coming from around the pump as well. from previous posts, it sounds like it needs to be replaced. Just was wondering what kind of pump this is so I can match it up exactly. Please let me know if anybody has one like this that they want to sell, or where I can get one. Sorry the pic is so big, this is my first time posting a pic. Thanks

I have a hyd pump I bought for my 300 utility, used it about 15 mins, then found my old pump to be ok. It looks like the one in the picture. I paid $510 for the new pump and will entertain any reasonable offer.

This is in response to the pump that you have that you would sell. I just want to check to make sure it is the one that I am looking for. Does it have any part number on it? Do you know if it is a M&W? Can you email me a picture of it? Does it look like the one in the picture I posted? If so, I would be very interested in it.
Thanks, Granger

I have one that I got on a Farmall M last year.

I bought a running parts tractor (the rear was bad), it had the live hydraulic pump on it along with a lot of the M&W options.

I am willing to sell it, but it would take at least $250.oo + shipping for me to part with it.

In-A-Bind, can you give me you email, so I can see if this is the pump that I am looking for. Do you know what the part # is on the pump? I would be interested in it. Thanks

i think i would check the hydraulic filter, see if there is metal shavings on it indicating a failed pump. also if you have or can get a guage to test pressure, that would be a good idea, should be around 1350 from what I've read. I have also heard many times that generally a failed pump is a gradual thing, but i supposed catastrohpic failures are possible. Also remember reading that failed bypass valves (whatever those are) can be a culprit. Also, if there are quick connects, i heard those can go bad too. I'm in no means a hydraulic expert, but i would check these simple things before you go replacing a expensive (probly over 500 easy) hydraulic pump. i wonder if someone could use one of those pulley driven pump and a custom bracket. those pump can be had for around 200-300$ new
That old pump would have to be left there for the ignition system to function tho.

Where would I look to find the hydraulic filter? Is it in the actual pump? I have followed all the lines & can NOT locate a place where the filter would be located. Thanks

The filter, if there was one, would be on a return line. That means low pressure. That also means somewhere between the load (cylinder) and the reservoir. There is about a 90% certanty that there is no filter. If there was a filter, you wouldn't be asking where it is. They are quite obvious on shade tree installations. SMTA did not have a filter. They made their appearance with the 400.

It would help to know what tractor we're looking at, but that is what's commonly called an IH "factory" pump for late H's, late M's, all Super H's, all Super M's, Super MTAs, 300s, 400s, 350s, and 450s.

There are two different pumps. One fits the smaller tractors (H/Super H/300/350), and the other fits the bigger tractors. They are not interchangeable, they cannot be rebuilt, and new ones are expensive.

The tractor that the pump is on is a 51 M.
