Word of caution here Allen on the 966 i would recomend direct axel mounts unless ya got wedge lock centers as once ya got over and 806 they had a bunch of problems with clamp on duals breaking out the clamps and clamp bolts along with the cast centers . I have enven broke two clamp bolts while having the duals on and i only run 10-12 lbs of air on the duals and 18 on the tractor . You would get more out of a set of direct axel mounts as far as traction and floation as then you can run the same air pressure on all .

Why are you running 10-12 psi in your duals. Tractor dealers, tire dealers and dual hardware manufacturers all recomend no more than 8 psi in duals and 6 is optimal. Our tire dealer told me that when a guy calls about anything that breaks on a tractor with duals his first comment is "too much pressure in the duals".

Hmmmm,

Yes, I've heard of that. However, here's what I'm thinking and here's my plan.

Let 'er bust. I'll tell the wife that it's gonna be awhile before I can find parts and the field work has to be done right now. So, in the meantime, maybe I should go out and find one of these little sweethearts? :>)

Yeah,

And she's not budgin' a bit either. Every time she sees me snoopin' around on ebay, she has to remind me that the next one WILL be green. :>)

Oh well, nice to dream, I guess. Trouble is, if and when we ever get the greener, I'm afraid that it's price tag is gonna rock her world. :>)

You sure on that i am thinking 5/8th fine but i could be wrong there 5/8th on the 806 takes a 15/16th socket and with out running out to john's place and checking his 966 his is also 5/8ths now that i think about it as he barrowed some of my extra DMI EYE BOLTS for his duals .

Boy, don't think so, Vet.

They are either 3/4 or 7/8" rascals. Pretty darned sure that they are 3/4" things on the 966.

Never owned an 06 so cant say, but the little guys all take the smaller 5/8".

Seems to me this one takes a 1 1/8" wrench on the lug bolts.

well it could be but i know that on John boy's 966 his are the 5/8th because when i got this 806 i had just aquired a set of 18.4x34 DMI clamp on duals with all the hardware and enough clamp bolts and eyebolts to put 8 on a side and since i am lazy i only put six on a side and had 4 extra 5/8th eyes layen around and john broke a couple and i gave him a couple to uses that now i am thinking about it he has not returned , going to have to have a long talk to the boy over barrowen stuff.

Thanks Pard,

I'm on my way. Like everything else, if I don't do it while I'm thinkin' about it, things usually don't get done around here 'til it's way too late. :>)
