Looked at a tractor today that I may buy, Had a small tank for gas and a normal size tank supposedly for kerosine, never seen one like this, it does NOT have a magneto. Any ideas on year of this tractor or if it is an H, I don't have a serial # yet.

3 engines, gas only, kerosene, distillate. The kerosene and distillate engines were available for several years after the distributer became standard.

IH made all three engines throughout production and beyond. So you need the serial number. However, most would have been produced during WWII and shortly thereafter--does not mean yours was. As to the distibuter, many were changed from mag to distributer. Not sure on the year distributers became standard, I think it was sometime in 1949.
