ok i need help we have 1 yearling steer out of a dozen head kept for roping pratice that has decided he will not stay in the cattle pen, he has got out 5 times in 2 days by jumping against the cattle pannels and busting them off the posts, the last time while i was looking at him, then the rest follow him,i have fixed all the weak looking fence every time, and finally roped him and put him in the return alley on the arena, but this is not a good solution, any idea other than a early bbq?

I usually tie my roping steers up with an old Lariat rope for a day or 2. Rope them around the horns and tie him up to a tree. That is how we break ours. Usually settles them down after a couple days.A Hot Wire also helps. If not, sale barn.

Fence crawlers/destroyers go to the sales barn ASAP.

You might try adding an electric wire if you're dead set on keeping him.

Where did you get it? Sounds just like the one I sold last week. The guy who owned it before me sold it for the same reason.
