Does anyone know where the water temp guage is supposed to be mounted on a 47 B? Can't find a picture, or anyone who will admit to knowing. Thanks

Thank you all! That makes sense as to why very few have ever seen them. I'm thinking sometime over the years that someone added one to mine, cause I'm pretty sure it's gas only. But how would you tell? Also, is it possible to shorten the lead wire from the guage to the probe without damaging it? And Gene..... yes, I'm gonna need one of those brackets.

They mount on the gov housing. If you look yoou will see a blank threaded hole that is one the other capscrew beside it is also used. Do you need the bracket? Bs that were dual fuel came with them and it also was a option.

I finally DID get those shutters up over the bathroom window. Looked like heck. Pretty sure they is some kinda of tractor part and not shutters a'tall. Besides, that thermometer thingy what come with them don't register nothing unless I turn the furnace up full blast for a coupla hours. Certain I been slickered.....

Nope. I work seven days a week in the winter so I can do stuff like that when the winds aren't howlin and the temperature is more friendly to my tired self. I'll be gettin to it in the spring. Got a 2N needs some engine work and this B needs the shutters put on, some lights and the buddy seat bolted together. Took me all day just to find my way back to this post! Gosh darned alternate forum had me trapped!

Thanks gentlemen. I have 2 yes"s & 1 no. All I know for sure is that mine had the probe with the wire pinched off, the old parts books show one, & Case still has the part. The wire, tho, is 6" long, which is why I"m wondering where the hell it"s mounted at

Gene Bender has it RIGHT. "They mount on the gov housing. If you look yoou will see a blank threaded hole that is one the other capscrew beside it is also used. Do you need the bracket? Bs that were dual fuel came with them and it also was a option."

gene b has forgotten more about A's and B's than the rest of us combined presently know, even when looking at one, so you can believe him. The temp gauge was standard on the kero/distillate tractors, optional on the gas versions, which is why many people have never seen one.
