I have a 706 that has the rockshafts and they have been taped up to ward off rust and dirt, and some where in the past they took off the 3pt or 2pt and put a draw bar on it. I was thinking of picking up a 2 or 3pt for it but I checked to see if the rockshafts moved when engaged and they dont. The other hyds. work, Aux., steering, brakes, etc. What would be causing the rockshafts not function if the other pumps work, namely the Auxillary pump because I believe that pump works both the rockshafts and remote aux. Any suggestions on the rockshaft not working. Thank you

Well they are probably in the up posision and they are not going to rotate to the down posisoin by them selfs if the lift cylinder has not been used , so get a BIG pipe wrench place the control lever in the down posission and try and rotate the shaft . Also remove the top link plate off the rear and take a lite and ook in there and see if the cyliner and linkage is in there . who knows if they may have removed all of it and blocked it off and all you have is remotes.

The rockshafts on these tractors are hydraulic-up, gravity-down. With no arms or other weight to pull them down, they"re not going to move even if they aren"t rusted from lack of use.

Nat i know this that is why i said use a BIG pipe wrench and PULL them down , heck if my 806 sets for awhile ya have to jump up and down on the hitch to get it to go down and she has close to 9000 hrs on it. Beleive me i know I H's inside and out i have had way tomany of them scattered across the floor with only bare cases setting on the stands and a pile of parts all over the place and i do not need the book to put the bolts and nuts back where they go.

Thanks for the thoughts, if I take the back plate off to see if it has linkages, will fluid come pouring out or is the fluid level below the plate.

If you pull the top link plat off and you get oil comming out the you are way over full. the oil level should not be much above the PTO shaft.
