I have a farmall h and the serial number is 501. I've looked up the years that they made them and found that in 1939 they started with the number 501. My question is; did they start with 501 from every factory, or is this the fist one ever built? If anyone has any info on this, I would like to here from you. Thanks, Chuck

I have seen over here in the UK a W4 tractor supplied on the lease lend scheme in 1940 with the serial number 504. It has been on the same farm from new and the serial number plate is all ok MJ

You better get plenty of insurance and keep tractor in safe place cause it would bring probably 20,000 or more just make sure that the serial# is true and not fake. Does the hood fasten on with hex head with a slott for a screwdriver. Check the casting codes what do they say?

Wouldn't that have stayed in the IH factory or a IH museum. I can't hardly believe that that tractor would have slipped out but hey anythings possible. If it's true your sitting on a gold mine and your a very lucky man. Do you know any history on it.

I believe they only made Farmalls in one factory, the Farmall factory, up until the early 1950s. IF, and this is a big if, that is an original serial number, you would be the owner of the first production H.
