I have to replace the steering shaft and yoke. The key slot is worn on the yolk. The key is tight on the worm shaft but the pin hole is worn. Can I just replace the shaft and yoke? Should I replace the worm shaft also? Steering gear is tight very little play.Any ideas and part# would be greatly appreciated.

If you go to www.engineersedge.com you can find the torque value of all grades of steel fasteners. 3/8 is 30 lbs
7/16 is 47
Do you have the correct brass washers and brass nuts? I think they are also a fine thread which will require a different torque value also, which is also on that web site.

Not really sure which yoke you are referring to. I"ve never seen the set up on a 230 but I think it is like the SC and 200. The number in the Super C book for the steering universal joint yoke is 350 256 R1 . This is the half of the u-joint that fits on the worm shaft. Hope this helps.
