M Pulley Spacing

I am finishing my rebuild of my M and am having problems with the main pulley on the crankshaft. It isn"t holding the power steering pulley completely tight against the retaining roll pins. Is there a special way to space that out so the power steering pulley is held tight and won"t fall when started? I am really confused to as to what to try. Right now the power steering pulley catches on the roll pins, but still has some front to back movement. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

An Idea that may work is to cut a disk from stiff synthetic rubber that matches the perimeter of the pulley and would provide the spacing needed.

Sources are: Cutting mats for roller cutters (a sewing product found at cloth stores)

Borko mats from drafting tables

Offset printing press blankets.

I would think about pinning the pulleys together just below the belt groove with two roll pins to keep them from loosening in operation.

Have removed them where thin metal or tin had been cut to go between pulleys to take up space.
I think starting sometime in 1950 on M tractors they started putting a cast pulley that is thicker
than earlier ones where pulleys go togeather.

What type of power steering is it? The Charlynn mounted high on the engine behind the radiator and I thought pulleyed off the water pump on a dual pulley. I could be wrong. Which roll pins hit it?

It is a charlynn system, but a good one that runs off an extra pulley on the crankshaft. The roll pins I am talking about are the ones that the hand crank catches. They are long enough to come out and grab and lock into the power steering pulley.

What is the possibility, that when Ih did the refirb with that style that the roll pin was removed? I know some of the crank driven hydraulic pumps required the roll pin removed.
