I am Restoring a '74 Hydro 70. This is my first Red Tractor Ive done 4 Green ones. JD PARTS.com is extreamly helpful for pic when your memory fails. IH has nothing like that that I am aware of The next best thing would be a parts manual. The local Dealership doesn't have one. Any recomindations to buy one that is good I don't want to shell out $70 for junk. Thank You

The local dealer here , Smith Imp. , can get me all manuals for my M , so I don't see why your dealer can't get manuals for a much newer tractor like yours . Granted they are reprints but they are still legible . This site won't let me post the name of the -Binder- site that has a -.com- behind it , so read between the lines and try them . they make good reprints . Or ebay . Good luck ...Randy

I have parts manuals and service manuals for two of our tractors. The service manuals were $20 for the I&T variety and the original 1950's parts manuals were $30 a piece in perfect condition. If you go to tractor shows and stuff, there are usually guys there that sell original IH manuals(owners, parts, and service). What do you mean that the dealer doesn't have a parts manual? Do you mean that they don't have one to sell? Or do you mean they don't have one to look up parts from? The dealer I go to still has all of the old IH parts manuals, and will photocopy pages from them if there is a certain page you really need.

They don"t have one to sell borrow or steal there only way of looking up parts is thier computer and I don"t need to waste thier time or mine sitting in there looking at the computer. If I had a parts manual I could look for the parts at night infront of the TV. Thanks for the info

I don't know if all dealers have it but I know one of the 2 we use has a pogram where they pull up the model, then where on the machine your part would fall(electrical, motor, cab, rear end, trans, etc.), then it shows an exploded veiw with all the part numbers listed. The local komatsu dealer has a similar program but after looking at the exploded views with them they still sometimes manage to get the wrong parts ordered.
