Hi guys,
I found this Farmall H for sale and the owner is wanting 2200 for it. He said it runs good, has been converted to 12 volt, its still all original, it hasnt been restored, its a 51,and it has a factory wide front on it and live hydraulics with a belly pump. Although the tires dont look very good all the way around, Id say it needs new tires, front and rear. It does need to be cleaned up alittle bit, and painted, with some minor body work, he is also one state line away from me and I would have to go get it. what do you guys think, is this price good, or should I try to negotiate or keep looking.

It is NOT "Still Original" if it has live hyd. and 12-Volt.

$2,200.00 is to much for a H that needs work and new tires.

Don't know where you are but I have a good running H, still on 6 volts, needs rear tires. Alol I want for it is $850 and that price isn't set in stone.

H's sell for $600-$1500 or so. It might be worth $1800 if in excellent condition, considering the live hydraulics and WFE. No way $2200. I paid that much for a Stage 2 Super H with factory live hydraulics (the ones on that one are aftermarket, likely M&W, for which there are no parts, far as I know) -- also too much, but IH made 390000 H's. You will find MANY more things wrong with it after you buy it, regardless of what the seller says.

I'd want to make sure to test drive it good (does it smoke badly? any noise from rear end? play in steering? does it charge even with lights on? check to see if block SN and tractor SN are the same, ask lots of questions, etc.) and look over it carefully and then try to get him under $2000.00 ($1,800?). The fact that it needs new rubber makes his asking price sound a little high to me, but maybe the factory WF is a factor(?).

I posted before I saw yours -- I didn't steal the $1800 from you. I did buy a M several years ago for $750 with a Swartz WFE and live hydraulics, fair tin -- $1800 would be the absolute maximum, there are just too many H's around to pay any more.

With new tires all the way around, $1500 would be a little too much, IMHO. Dick Davis
