I am a tired of the lack of urgency/ customer service at my local IH dealer here. Waiting for service is worse than the post office, it seems like unless I am a regular that spends thousands weekly or am in the market to spend $100,000 for a new tractor I get no respect, and sorry my time is valuable. Where are some of the places in central MN that a guy can get parts (new and used) for IH as well as others. Skid loaders and used equipment as well.

Timmer Implement in Pease, MN hwy 169.
Small IH dealer has always treated me right.
Will ship the parts if needed.

I work in Saint Cloud so have stopped at Arnolds many times. You must be talking about them.

Gotvolds is great for used parts. Thats where I got the rear PTO unit for my 400. $150 less than any one else.
They also stock a good supply of collector parts on hand. Decales, steering wheels and such.
They also gave me a great price for a complete engine rebuild on my 706. Less than $2000 for out of frame job.

Try Hendricks Tractor Parts for used IH stuff. They are one of six huge tractor salvage yards owned by one parent. Hendricks MN, 877-536-6620

I'm a mechanic at Fergus International in Fergus Falls and we try to help everyone from the hobby farmer to the custom harvester. Our parts guys are pretty good but there is one that gets information mixed up over the phone once and a while. So I won't go as far to say that we're a perfect dealership. One good tip and this goes for any dealership, when calling on parts is to ask them to check the bin for the part so that you don't waste a long drive for nothing. I've seen this happen that a customer drives from miles away and leaves mad cause they thought somebody said that we had the part. As far as service we have a number of guys with quite a few years of experience on lots of different equipment. Hope this can be of some help to you.

Dave - you know Don & Dana. Dana recently quit custom work to be at home more with his new bride and child, and Don who has been doing it for more years than most can remember? They run red. Please tell them I said hi. They do a fair amount of custom work around Wales & Langdon.

Are you refering to Don Stock and Dana Klasvick? Not positive on the spelling of Dana's last name.

I hear ya Dave. I've been making the drive to Pierce. Usually it's two trips for a part. Once when they say it'll be there and again when it actually is. I've had better luck going to IH in Kimball on 15 & 55.

Arnold's, perhaps? Might depend on which branch. Kimball folks seem pretty decent. For IH- Try Fran at River Power Equip.(320-685-7001) in Cold Spring. Torborg Equip. (320-243-3798) in Paynesville (ex-dealer, salvage and repair). Long Prairie Mchy is 320-732-3715. Bobcat sales and salvage at Farm-Rite in Dassel 1-888-679-4857. AC- Milaca- Ron 320-983-3500.

Dave-Where in central Minn are you? Theres a place on 71 south of Long Prairie about 4 miles that might be able to help you. I think it is called Long Prairie Machinery or something like that. Maybe its the place you are talking about. Have a nephew that does a little business there.-Bill

Hi , Can't help with your delima but can add that my local AGCO dealer is the same way so I go 20 miles north to get part's instead of around the corner from where I work . The IH dealer in town is very good , so far , with helping and they have a showroom full of old part's on hand . They print off pages of the book's for me for free which help's a lot . It's in NE Iowa in Waverly - Smith implement if you want to look them up online , they also use the name Titan machinery online . Take care ...Randy

Randy, I too now go about 20 miles north to Smith's since Titan's operation at the former Walterman's at Dike isn't fully up and running on parts yet. We must start from about the same place!

Hi Leon , I was as clear as mud again :') I work in Waverly right now . Actually I work for a company in Waverly and now I'm working on the law center in Waverly . That big crane is the one I run . I live about 6 miles north of Shellrock . I go to Schwartzrock for Oliver and Krause part's . I use Smith for the M part's they are both top notch in my book . Deike's on the other hand ....

I heard something about Walterman's having money problem's . Didn't the fed's show up there one morning and shut them down ? They are open again now ? Is Titan the parent company ? ...Randy

I live immediately south of Cedar Falls, in the rural north end of Hudson. Smith's is good. Actually, in the limited experience I had with parts at Walterman's, they were OK too.

As I understand it, Leon Walterman is going through divorce and his wife was the whistle blower for his dealership. Case-IH is apparently forcing his dealership into bankruptcy. The paper said he owed Case-IH some $20 - $25 milloin, but that's not surprising considering the number of combines he usually has in inventory. It was also reported that some machines were double financed and that some of the money supposedly on deposit for next fall's combine leases has disappeared. Without advance notice even to employees, the doors were locked for some time. Titan is a Case-IH dealer conglomerate from the Dakotas and for now is operating the former Walterman's. Now they answer the phone "Dike Implement". Titan is also Smith's parent company.

Have you ever attended the JD Collector's club that meets at Antique Acres north of Cedar Falls usually at 7:00pm the last Monday of the month? There are many collectors there, mostly JD but others too. I have two old Deeres and just recently got a Super C.
