Cleaning out the dirt/munure from a real old barn and found a box full of wrenches. They look old. Some of them say ford and some of them say pitman several don't say a thing. Some of them are awkward in shape, does anyone know a thing about them? or anything to look for?

Also, my M won't turn over in the Cold weather, any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

The wrenches were used to remove nuts and bolts. Wait till it warms up to start your tractor.

If you could post some pictures and any markings or partnumbers, I may be able to help. Bob

The Ford wrenches could be model T or A. The others? I don't know. Some folks do collect old wrenches, so don't just throw them away. I doubt if there is any immense value in them.

Thanks, I will hold onto them- By all means I need more things :)

They were covered up by burlap in the corner of a real old barn that I was cleaning to keep a tractor for restoration- Not the greatest building but still standing and sorta dry but out of the wind.

When you say “won’t turn over” I presume you mean with the starter. For temps below freezing I recommend 10W-30 or even lighter (5W-20) for below 0 F. I would also suggest a tank heater, and/or a magnetic heater for the oil pan. All will help the engine turn over.

Of course this already presumes that you have a good battery with adequate amperage, clean battery connections, adequate sized battery cables (00 for six volt 2 for twelve volt), and clean metal to metal contact on the starter nose, field housing, and brush end plate.
