Some one was kind enough to measure their battery box on this site and give me the dimensions so I could buy a battery now that will fit in the box I plan to replace later. I believe the dimensions were 7 1/2" wide x 11 1/2" across x 9 1/2" high.

Interstate group 35 izz close to a group 1 and a group 25 or 26 will werk not sure weather its a 25 or 26, I use the 35 to replace a group 1, 6 Volt battery.

A "Group One" automotive 12 volt battery will usually fit into most 6 volt battery boxes, at least they have in my past experiences (many 40's an 50's large and small trucks, vehicles, and tractors.) I bet you can email for the exact size of the box, then measure your battery to check the fit. So there is a "meaningful answer"

My 1940 M is 12 volt, when the battery went bad I pulled one out of a 1968 Ford pickup that is no longer being used, the battery fit right into the original battery box, and I even had to cut some pieces of one inch lumber to fill up the space around it and under it.

Well there is no answer.
The physical size of your battery is unknown, so we cannot respond meaningfully.
If you are not interested in originality, a marine plastic battery box with lid is reasonable, and durrable. Buy one to fit the physical dims of your new battery.

My dad has run one for years with an elasticated hold down device with chromium plated "S" hooks on each end and it seems to work for him. :-) Harley
