I have a CIH 685 with brake problems. Every once in a while I have to bleed them, sometimes they hold for a few days and sometimes only a day. The right brake has been holding for a couple of weeks now. I bought the tractor in January and it's been real good, with the exception of the brakes. It's a MFD model. Is there anything else I should be prepared for? THANKS

Hi MN, try to bleed the brake system, stop the tractor for 1 or 2 days and check one pedal at the time to see wich is the side in trouble. Unlock the pedal to make the test, because, if you press both pedal, it have an equaliser valve in the system. The pedal that goes down have a leak in the piston. Bernard le mécano Québec Canada

Hi MNRed, do a search in the archives on Bernard.
There you should find Bernard le mecano's procedure for testing the brakes for a leaky cylinder. I think it was on an 885 but is same setup as 685.
