What are the recomaditions for rear end oil in an F20 mine is low and I have been told that the newer oils will cause the seals to stare leaking or leaking more. How much does it hold?? I also thought about adding some Lucas. Thanks

Thanks I didn't like the looks of the sludge anyway, I'll use it plowing for a while then drain when its nice and warm.

Corndude -

Have put 80-90w and 140w in old tractor rear ends with no noticeable impact on the machine. Don't have my manual close at hand for the quantiity, but 5-7 gallons rings a bell. Drain out about half of the current oil (sludge), refill with a couple gallons of kerosene. Drive it around for an hour or so getting some heat into the machine (possibly on a warm sunny day), pull the plugs and let it drain for a day or two. Wipe as much goo from inside the drain holes with your finger, then refill.
