I have a SH that is not hitting on all four. I'm getting good hot spark to all the plugs, but # 3 is not firing correct. I can ground out 1,2,& 4 but not # 3 The engine runs so smooth except for this problem. I've replaced wires, plugs, points, cap, etc. I sure appreciate the help.

A broken valve spring will cause it to miss too. Hal

I would check that cap where the rotor contacts
No3 for any burnt contacts. If you have another cap I would install it to see if that fixes the problem. Be sure to swap the the plug wires in their correct firing order. Are you sure that
No3 plug wire isn't firing when you hold it away from the plug? I thought the valves may be too tight on No3. Set them at .020" cold. Hal

If there is spark at the plug, and all other cyl's work, it needs a compression check. Simple and fast. No compression means pull the valve cover and see if there is a valve stuck down on that cyl. If not its pull the head time.
Lots of luck, JimN
