Jonathan, I"m sure that you"re disappointed that the crank didnt work out, but if the seller mentioned that it would fit all the models that he did, then you should have been alert enough to realize that something didnt add up. I"m also sure that the seller didn"t know the difference. YOu might be able to modify the crank to work for you, or you can chalk this up to experience. As far as venting and ranting, save it for the things that really count. I"m sure you"ll get plenty of opportunities before you depart this old planet. As Cowman suggested, its hard to be absolutely sure of some items you come across as to just what they go to.

Well they look real similar so I guess guys just don't know the difference. I have a drawbar listed right now that I thought was for John Deere new generation but last night my neighbor told me that he don't think it is, that it is way too short? I don't know, but at least in the ad I did state the size.

When I first bought my f-20 I did not have a crank. so I bought one off of e-bay that was advetised that would fit an f-20, H, or M and I was quite angry when I bought it and it would not work. The seller would not refund my money. I could have left a nagative feed back, but whats the point. I leave one for him and he leaves one for me. That was a year ago and I guess I am still a little angry about it. But I still get anoyed when I see people trying to sell something they know nothing about. if the don't know they have they should just say so that is how I look at it. its better that just acting like you know. that why I have been asking some of the stupid questions on here that I have been asking. thats the only way you find out is to ask. In your case its an honest mistake because you are an honest man. but some people are just out to take pother people's money.

Well I feel better for finally getting that off my chest. :)

I don't know about a F-20 but I had a F-14 that the crank was from a M, the crank was to small for the F-14 so I put it into the drill press and made the hole bigger. now it fits the the F-14

Jonathan,

Why didn't you just relist it on ebay and tell everybody 'here is a crank handle that I haven't got a clue as to what it fits'. I am sure somebody would have grabbed it not knowing whether it fit a Farmall or a T model Ford. So the guy said it fit an F 20 and it didn't. Probably somebody told him it did. If he took it off a T model Ford and advertised it as an F 20 crank, that's wrong. But, we all make mistakes. Did he also say, as is-where is, all sales final? If not, turn him into the ebay authorities and 'git yore doller back'. Otherwise, your conclusion of wasted effort is probably right. Caveat Emptor.
