I see hand cranks advertised frequently and they always say it is for the "H" or "M" Farmall. We have two cranks for the "H" but neither one will fit the "M". Is our tractor rare, or do the people selling them just not know that they are different?? Your expert opinion- Please!!!

Many times the shaft the crank slides on gets rusted tight and some enterprising individual will try to loosen it with a sledge hammer. This gentle persuasion often mushrooms the shaft's end keeping the crank from sliding on. Wanna know how I know this???

Iallways thought you guy only used hand cranks as orniments. Here in the UK 90 % of the letter series tractors imported into the country were hand crank starting no electrics at all between 1939 to 1949 when imports stopped. I have a 1945 H witch allways starts on tee third crank. MJ

Yes, the H and M should be the same, 3/4 shaft, F20 is slightly larger 7/8 I think.

Expert? Nope, but the cranks are the same. I have an H and an M also, same crank fits both. Part numbers in the parts books are identical. Someone changed something on your M. Far as I know they fit H-450.
