I don't have my manuals yet, but what engine oil and filter are appropriate for a Super C?

What about transmission and hydraulic oil?

What does the original manual say?

If you only use it in warm weather, or if in cooler weather you're real good about letting it warm up you can use 15w40 oil too. A good diesel oil like Delo 400 would be a fine choice.

The oil filter element is part # 355009R1. These are readily available from you local Case/IH dealer or you can cross it to a NAPA, etc part number. There have been many discussion on this board concerning the various oils. I use straight 30W detergent oil in my C's because I do not use them in the winter. The other option would be to use 10W-30. The rearend takes about 5 gallons of 90W rearend grease. The hydraulic system takes about 3 quarts of a good quality hydraulic fluid. Fill it to about 1/2" below the fill plug. There is also a screen that you can clean on the left side of the hydraulic unit. The gasket (350651R91) is available from Case/IH. There was a very informative post last week concerning the various brands and their compatability with IH Hytran. Essentially any of the name brands meets or exceeds the Hytran specifications.
