I have a late f20 in my salvage facility that has an odd hood, to me anyway. It has a cast iron collar that fits around the exhaust pipe, and it has a very large, like six inch, hole for the exhaust. Looks like you could set the muffler down tight against a gas manifold and it would fit through this collar. I thought it was added on trash, but it fits very nice and is riveted on, and has a part # but I cannot find it in my book. And now I have seen two more of 'em, but none of them appeared to be serving any purpose. Someone know what these were for? Bill

I think I read somewhere that that was a special hood used with a mounted corn picker. The extra big hole was for the screen spark arrester sheild that would keep chaff and combustibles away from the hot exhaust where they would catch fire. I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me.

Jeb is correct, it was for a spark arrester used with a 2M mounted corn picker.
