Hello, Well I am buying a Farmall H sight unseen. A good friend who owns 2 IH's told me of this one for sale. It currently is being used to mow hay, and I will be able to pick it up in September. I am just curious what year it might be. So far all I know is that it has a generator 6V, Lights, electric start, has a pto to run the sickle mower, and has a 5 speed transmission. Can you please give me a ball park idea of what year I am purchasing. Yea I thought my friend would know, but he doesn't, so I am asking here....

Thanks,
Scott.

You have pretty much described every H ever built. Don't worry about what year it is at this time. Get the tractor, bring it home, and then you can learn all the details.

What these guys are trying to say is that you need more information than, "It's an H." They made nearly 300,000 of these things over a 13 year period, and another 20,000+ Super Hs in 1953 and 1954 that could be mistaken for a regular H by an uneducated eye.

Get the serial number. Then someone can help, or you can look it up on the serial numbers link on the left.

If the paint is bad, it could be a Super H which would be 1952 to 1954.
