We have two 1066s, one is turned up 10% (done when the pump shop rebuilt the pump) and it will burn roughly 3 gallon per hour running a 9' disk mower in heavy clover hay. If your going to have the pump rebuilt the pump shop could probably tweak the pump to improve your fuel economy if you don't need it's full power.

I had a 1486 that would run cheaper than my 966 on the round baler. I don't know how many gallons per hour, but pulling a 8 row Lilleston cultivator I could cultivate almost three hundred acres with 60 gallons of fuel.

That tractor ran cheap on light jobs, but could run lots of fuel through on heavy jobs. I'd expect a 1466 to be similar.

I am in northeast Missouri.Theres alot of old 14's around, and they all seem to be in similar condition. The one I am looking at is priced at $4500. It is more tractor then I wanted, butbetter too much power than not enough. I need an air conditioned cab for haying and this one has everything I need.

Chris: Buying that 1466 may be a small percentage of the cost. When you step up to the parts counter it is still a 150 hp tractor. It's rarely ever better to have more power than you need for the job. I can take you to hundreds of big tractors parked in the back 40 out of sight. These were bought by people who thought they were going cheap, and parked by people either unwilling or unable to buy the parts to keep them running.

im going to say about 4 gallons an hour on light work ,might do a little better throttled back to 1800 or so. be suspicious if it had alot of weights and duals .you might be looking at a rearend rebuild .
