I RECENTLY SENT A SET OF DISC BRAKES FOR A SM I AM BUILDING FOR A CUSTOMER. THE PRICE HAD JUST INCREASED BY ABOUT 20%, BUT I SENT THEM ANYWAY, TAKING INTO CONCIDERATION THE RECENT INCREASE OF FUEL. HOWEVER, WHEN I GOT THE BRAKES BACK, THE DISC THAT WERE INCLUDED WERE MADE IN CHINA.WHEN I CONTACTED THE COMPANY AND VOICED MY DISSATIFACTION I WAS BASICALLY TOLD TOUGH LUCK. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD USED THES FOLKS, AND ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS FOR SENDING TO THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE WAS THE WAY THEY ADVERTIZED MADE IN AMERICA!!!! WHATS YOUR OPPINION ON THIS????

A lot of parts are foreign made. As to the disks -- buy them from Case-IH, the price isn't much higher, you'll probably find they are made in Mexico. Unfortunately American made anything is getting harder and harder to find, it's a world economy, like it or not.

CNKS is right on. I recently found out of production parts for a Wisconsin engine - I had tried about a dozen well regarded Wisconsin suppliers to no avail- Don's Tractor parts in Colorado had new ones in stock. They are made in Mexico -haven't tried them yet but look like they should work. If you don't want ANY foreign parts installed, IMHO all your equipment will be fenced rowed shortly. Dick Davis

I FULLY REALIZE THAT FOREIGN PARTS ARE HERE TO STAY AND WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT. THE PROBLEM I HAD WITH THIS PATICULAR COMPANY WAS THE FACT THAT AMERICAN MADE DISCS WERE AND ARE AVAILABLE. THE DISCS WERE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE RE-WORK. I JUST WASN,T GIVEN A CHOICE, AND BASED ON THE "AMERICAN CO., AMERICAN MADE,MOTTO THAT THEY EMPHISISED, I ASSUMED I WOULD GET AMERICAN MADE. THE INCREASE IN THEIR PRICE WOULD HAVE CERTAINLY COVERED THE DIFFERENCE IN PRICE BETWEEN THE TWO DISCS.

Frank, Upset or not, hit the caps lock key. Much easier to read.
