In the state newspaper today, they have a couple pictures of a tractor on an in-state farm, the tractor is a modern, enclosed cab type...but the funny thing is whats on the sides of the hood....it says McCormick.Did I miss something...or is another company making McCormick tractors? This one was red and pulling a green JD implement (sacrelige!!).

Not only McCormick, but the local CNH dealer also has one with the Farmall name on it. What do you guys know about that? Roger

I drove one about 2 years ago. Perkins engine, otherwise a lot loke a Magnum. Ran very nice though.

Made in England at the old IH Doncaster factory by Landini. Doncaster had to be sold to Landini to satisfy the E.U. antitrust regulations during the merger between Case/IH and New Holland.

Case/NH has leased the McCormick name to Landini for these tractors.

At least that's what I understand from what I heard about it.

Didn't know they leased the name -- I thought they had to give up the McCormick name to satisfy the conditions of the sale. The New Holland dealer here sells McCormick. The Case-IH dealer sells Massey.

Meant to say merger, not sale.

Yes, they're back. Been around for a couple years now. Can't remember the name of the company building them, Landini or something? They got ahold of the old IH plant in England where the 54, 74, 84, 85, and 95 series, ect. utility tractors were built, during the Case-IH/ New Holland merger. The new McCormicks are somewhat based on the old IH British utilities, but I don't think too many parts will interchange. I think they run Cummins and Perkins engines with a rear end that evolved from the IH's.

Yes there is a company building a tractor call McCormick. >Link
They>Link have some new tractors most of them are the old C & CX & MX series Case/IH tractors. Case/IH sold the doncaster plant and tractor line & name to them when CNH came along.

Hi Paul, I think someone posted pictures of those McCormick tractors sometime ago. I think he was riding by the dealership and snapped some pictures. I believe it was in one of the southern states where he saw them. Hal

Curious you should bring this up....

I noticed at one of the main Railyards in Kansas City a couple of weeks ago a whole lineup of tractors that had apparently just been unloaded....

All exactly alike....

Except some where CASE, and other had McCormick on them.

Badge engineering sure makes for a cheap expansion of a product line. Now all they need to do is relabel a smaller CASE product and rename it "INTERNATIONAL 300 UTILITY".....only then will I have truly seen it all.....
