I"m still tinkering with the old m. It seems like it will idle for several minutes fine and run fine for several minutes, but after a few minutes of driving if I take off in fifth and give it full throttle it will run for a few seconds and then start to sputter and then it dies. I try to turn it over and if I choke it, it will start, but immediately die and after a few minutes it will start up again. What do you all think. I"m thinking the fuel is getting cut off, but I want to be sure.

Don't forget to check the fuel cap vent.

Unscrew the base of the sediment bowl from the tank and check the stand pipe on it. It will most likely have spiderwebs or rust in it.It"ll give you fits till you clean it out.

I'd say you have a clogged fuel system. Pull the drain plug out of the carb and see if you get a good flow of gas, if you don't you will need to check the sediment bowl filter etc

Did you clean the Carb. I"ve had that happen with a sticky float needle.

The carb has a new needle and seat.

A new needle and seat is not enough, you need to completely disassemble the carb and soak it in carb cleaner overnight. In other words, completely overhaul the carb. Would also be a good idea to inspect the gas tank on the inside, it might be full of rust and other crud. While you're at it, remove the sediment bowl assembly and clean it good. If you don't like what you see in the sediment bowl, replace it. A new assembly is under $30.
