Where does the tach cable attach to on the motor?

I believe the early Corvetts had a tach drive generator. Course they would be Delco Remy. Perhaps some car buffs would have one around especially if others besides Corvette used it. Good Luck!! You will need all the leads you can get.

If you are having trouble finding the right generator Allis Chalmers used similar drives and generators some years.

The original generator was made with tach drive on rear.

My generator must not be the original, is it an add on to the generator or a special generator? Never seen one. Where can you find one?

Check to see if the shaft in the rear of the generator is threaded on the inside. If it is, then all you need is the tach drive housing and gears. Not an easy item to find, but not extinct either.
