Hydraulic Disconnects

My 340 Utility has two pairs of hydraulic coupler quick disconnects, one pair on either side. I bought the tractor last year and have not yet used the disconnects. The couplers are difficult to actuate by hand - the outer ring is frozen on all of them. I"ve removed the couplers - they just thread off a nipple that is attached to a dual manifold with an Oring seal. Are the disconnects rebuildable, or should I just replace them all? I"m getting ready to install a loader on the tractor.

Thanks

Paul: I'd go with the advice you have received from Hal and KB. Over the years I've tinkered with a few of these. Usually after you get the frozen one working they leak, then you install new O rings and they still leak. Quite soon you realize you earned about $3 per hour for your time.

Thanks for the advice. I"ll buy new ones. Somethings aren"t worth trying to repair and I realize these are in that category. Considering all of the hydraulic pressure behind them, I don"t want to compromise here.

Any farm equipment dealer will have new couplers on hand, probably less than $20 each. Just take your old ones along to compare.

I think I would replace them. For us it was easier to get new quick disconnects from the federal supply system than trying to get repair kits. Hal
