I have a 1950 Cub, I was spreading dirt Sunday & snapped the rod that goes from the hydraulic lift to the top of the rear hitch / makes the York Rake go up & down (it has been bowing for 20+ yrs under pressure). What is the correct name for this piece & where can I get a new one?? (I welded & re-enforced the old one, but, I know it's only a matter of time before I snap it again). How much do these rods cost? Anyone got a use one they can sell me? I tried to find it in my book last night & I don't know the right name for this piece. Thanks for any help. Josh

I think it's just called a lift rod, and if you're breaking a reinforced one, a stock rod isn't going to take the stress. My opinion is that the rod is trying to tell you something about how you're using your tractor.

...stock rod lasted 55yrs, when it was 35yrs old, I noticed it started a little bowing, I broke it 20 yrs later. Are you seriously trying to tell me I don't know how to use my tractor?? Thanks for the help.
