I have an old IH mower that hangs off the rear axle housing. The brackets are shaped like a Stop Sign (not round housing)What king of IH tractor is this for? What is the model of this mower?

The C and Super C tractors have a hexagon (six sides) shaped rear axle housing. I believe there were brackets with two swinging eye bolts, top and bottom of axle housing for attaching things like cultivators and mowers to the C tractor line. However, the stop sign is an octagon (8 sides). I'm not aware of any IH tractors with that design of rear axle housing.

You are right about the two day installation. We only put the plow on our C about one time since it took so long. We put the cultivators on and left them on for the season. Even raked hay and straw with them on. Hal

You needed some practice if it took that long. Used to remove cultivator and mount mower on dad's C quite often, and took less than 1/2 hour to switch either way. I would often cultivate for a while, then mopw the hay, then switch back to finish day off cultivating.
